Kenya Kazi Services Ltd. is the largest security company in Central Africa. Around 24.000 employees work here to provide security for companies or at official receptions in all of Eastern and Central Africa. The ever growing IT infrastructure of the company is, however, faced with many threats in Africa. That is why Kenya Kazi Services Ltd. has decided to install a system for 360° environmental monitoring and therefore secure its IT which is so important for the daily workflow and business processes.
Brodinger IT-Sicherheitstechnik with its headquarters in Austria, certified Gold Partner of Kentix, has designed a ready-for-use IT rack solution for this purpose and has installed it on site. The “mini data center” that has been established this way consists of an air-conditioned double rack with USV power supply, a special power concept, a fire-extinguishing system, network wiring and support connection. And also: A monitoring solution by Kentix, two MultiSensor-Rack to be exact. With their 12 integrated sensors, they monitor the IT-racks for 24 critical physical threats and additionally analyze power supply and voltage via the integrated PDU. This way, the IT of the company is reliably secured against all major risks such as critical climate factors, humidity, fire or theft. The IT administrators receive alarms immediately in case a threat occurs so that they can react fast and adequately.

Difficult conditions for an IT security project
The challenges with this project were especially the poor building fabric on site, an unstable power supply and tropical climate conditions despite the altitude of Nairobi. All these difficulties could be overcome with the established complete solution. Kenya Kazi Services Ltd. now has the security of their IT always at a glance due to the integrated systems by Brodinger IT-Sicherheitstechnik and Kentix.
